Prototype and Test Engineer
When Richard first met Vic, he rebuked the Thermionic head honcho for smoking a cigar inside the Harlow hardware store he was then running and so it seemed rather improbable that the pair might find themselves working closely together one day! However, a firm friendship soon evolved and Richard, who has a wealth of electronics experience, has now been a permanent member of the team for the past five years. Fat Bustards, Earlybirds and Nightingales are just a few of the units built by Richard’s busy hands while he also puts together prototypes for any new product design drawings Vic has rustled up. Recently Richard has added the role of test engineer to his list of talents.
Music-wise, Richard likes nothing more than embarking on a voyage of discovery into songs and sounds he’s never heard before and he currently has a particular penchant for 1930s dance bands. His favourite ever albums include Carole King’s ‘Tapestry’, ‘Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ by The Beatles and Paul Simon’s ‘Graceland’.
