"I recorded a band in the late 90's at Southern Studio in London. While I was there, I fell in love with this awesome compressor they had called a Chiswick Reach. I looked around for one of my own but kept hitting a wall. When I heard the Chiswick Reach's designer, Vic Keary had a new company called Thermionic Culture, and a new comp called "The Phoenix," I ordered one immediately - I didn't care that it cost twice as much as anything else I owned at the time... it was worth every penny! Fast forward a decade or so and here I am with a rack full of almost everything they make. I even built my new console around Thermionic gear, so that I could twist the knobs from the sweet spot between the monitors instead of having to roll over to the rack - I use this stuff that much! It's gritty when I need it, transparent when I don't, warm with out being muddy, bright without being sterile or harsh, and always classy sounding. Keep up the good work, guys!"
